When you are delivering a card in person and don’t have to worry about fitting it in an envelope and mailing it, you can really get creative – and dimensional! Designer Evgenia Petzer likes to add details to her cards, and this one has a lot of them hiding in her collage of embellishments.

The little bottle filled with beads mimics a baby rattle. The various layers of paper background are held in place (or appear to be, at least) by several different kinds of stitching. Gesso was used on one of the buttons to create a textured faux finish. And the distressed edges of the background papers adds just a bit of character to the whole arrangement.

Collage isn’t just for wall hangings or layouts…take it out for a try on a card!
